GERUND
adalah kata kerja V-ing yang berfungsi sebagai kata benda.
a) Gerund sebagai subjek

Example: Collecting stamps is my hobby 

b) Gerund sebagai objek
Example: My dream job is driving an expensive car

Perbedaan Accustomed to dan Used to (Kebiasaan yg berulang):
> Used to
1. to be present (is, am, are) atau to be past (was dan were) atau get/got + used to + verb-ing 

2. used to + verb-inf
jadi, used to hanya akan pakai verb-inf kalau sebelum used to tidak diikuti apapun

> Accustomed to
1. to be present (is, am, are) atau get + accustomed to + verb-ing
2. to be past (was dan were) atau got + accustomed to + verb-inf
jadi, accustomed to hanya akan pakai verb-inf kalau sebelum accustomed to tidak diikuti to be present

Gerund setelah preposisi
On, in, of, off, at, from, for, after, before, about, by, with, without, between, among, etc 

Example: He must be responsible for letting the old man go alone.
Gerund setelah possessive
My, your, his, her, its, our, their
Example: I wait for your attending my party.

Biasanya, kata kerja yang bisa diikuti keduanya diikuti oleh VERB-ING jika kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah kegiatan yang sama atau hanya ada 1 kegiatan pada soal.

Identifikasi dulu ya, di pilihan jawabannya itu kata kerjanya apa, lalu lihat di soalnya sama gak kata kerjanya?
Ternyata beda, jadi ada 2 kegiatan berbeda yaitu work dan smoke, maka jawaban yang tepat yaitu TO BE + VERB INF > C. To Smoke

Untuk contoh ini, apakah kata kerja yg di jawaban sama seperti kata kerja di soal?
Wah sama, berarti kegiatan yang sama. Took a bath nya gak dianggap kegiatan, ingat ya kalau soal ada 2 kalimat, bacalah kalimat yang ada di titik-titiknya. Took a bath itu ada di kalimat 2, sedangkan pertanyaan ada di kalimat 1. Makanya took a bath tidak perlu dibaca. Karena hanya ada 1 kegiatan di soal, maka jawaban yang tepat yaitu VERB-ING. -> A. Working.

Need dan Want diikuti Gerund dan Infinitive
Pola Kalimat Aktif:
S + Need/want + To infinitive
Example: I need to water the flowers everyday

Pola Kalimat Pasif:
S+Need/want+Tobe+Verb3+O
Example: He needs to be given a long prison sentence because he’s very dangerous person
S + Need/want + Gerund + O
Example: He needs giving a long prison sentence because he’s very dangerous person
